supreme court Climate change activist Mike Smith has dropped Channel Infrastructure from his major litigation against the country’s biggest emitters.The climate change suit was launched against Channel in 2019 when it was formerly Refining NZ, alongside other major corporates including Fonterra, Genesis Energy, NZ Steel and Z Energy.Channel has reduced its emissions by more than 98% since then because it only imports and no longer refines fuel.The NZX-listed firm said today the case against it had been dropped.“The claimant has...
