Damien Grant wins a rehearing in membership battle

A High Court judge has ruled insolvency regulator RITANZ must reconsider its decision to block Damien Grant’s membership, giving him the chance to be a liquidator again.Justice Matthew Muir ruled the board of RITANZ must re-evaluate his membership and has suggested a senior lawyer help when it does so.The judge said the RITANZ panel, chaired by PwC’s John Fisk, misapplied the legal test for good character and gave too much weight to Grant’s historic dishonesty convictions.However, the High Court at Auckland rejected Grant&rsqu...
