Those wishing to submit on the Crown Minerals Amendment Bill have until midnight next Tuesday to make a submission.The bill repeals the ban on new oil and exploration permits outside parts of onshore Taranaki and other changes, including altering the decommissioning liability regime, returning the law's purpose to “promote prospecting for, exploration for, and mining of Crown-owned minerals for the benefit of New Zealand”, and a new Tier 3 permit class to make it easier for small-scale, non-commercial mining operations.The bill...
