A scheme designed to tackle New Zealand’s growing mountain of electrical waste will be funded by the manufacturers and distributors of those goods.The proposed e-product stewardship scheme, released on June 27, would see goods tracked through their lifetime before being finally recycled by certified operators. Non-profit organisation TechCollect NZ, which has been running a pilot scheme since 2018, prepared the recommendations along with consultants EY.It will be one of several compulsory stewardship schemes at various stages of deve...
