Serious boost for fraud amid justice initiatives

The Serious Fraud Office has received a chunky funding boost in Budget 2022, with targeted funding allocated for the prevention of fraud, as well as accommodation, IT and recruitment.  The agency, which is forecast to receive $13.9 million for the 12 months to June 2022, has been allocated another $18.8m over four years. This averages to a $4.72m boost each year.  The additional funding as part of a wider “justice cluster” includes operational funding next year of $1.79m for prevention, $463,000 for accommodation, $257,000...
