Vector facing fines for excessive multi-year power outages

Vector is being taken to court by the Commerce Commission over excessive electricity outages in the Auckland region. The commission says the Auckland electricity and gas distributor failed to meet minimum reliability requirements for four consecutive years from 2017 to 2020. It is seeking financial penalties from Vector in the high court in Auckland.
