More than four years after the company’s role in the 2019 Whakaari tragedy, White Island Tours Limited was placed into liquidation on Friday.The company ferried tourists to the volcano, north of Whakatāne, on Dec 9, 2019 when 22 people lost their lives and 25 were injured.
