Tony Gibbs, who died on Sunday, was an old-fashioned corporate raider. He was an aggressive, no holds barred, brawler who cut his teeth in an unregulated era before the inception of the FMA, Takeovers Code, NZ Superannuation Fund, KiwiSaver and PIE funds.
