Restaurant Brands lifts first-qtr sales 1.6% as NZ KFC chain shines

By Jenny Ruth May 30 (BusinessDesk) - Restaurant Brands’ New Zealand KFC chain was the star of its first-quarter report, lifting sales 6.7 percent from a year earlier and contributing the most to the company’s overall 1.6 percent sales increase. The fast food operator’s sales for the 12 weeks ended Feb. 26 rose to $182.8 million, from $180 million in the year-earlier quarter. The NZ KFC chain contributed $80 million, up from $75 million.
