MARKET CLOSE NZX 50 pushes up to new record; F and P Healthcare gains
May 8 (BusinessDesk) – New Zealand stocks rose, pushing the NZX 50 Index to a new record, as investors welcomed Fisher & Paykel Healthcare’s continued release on new products and the Reserve Bank said it had intervened in the currency market to try to force the kiwi down. The NZX 50 rose 18.55 points, or 0.4 percent, to 4640.27. Within the index, 23 stocks rose, 19 fell and eight were unchanged. Turnover was $156 million. F&P Appliances rose 1.9 percent to $2.69.
