MARKET OPEN: Easing of lockdown restrictions may help sentiment

The local stock market may push higher on news that most lockdown restrictions could be eased by the end of June but trading will likely be light after holidays in the US and UK. The government would consider whether and when the country could move to the lowest alert level in response to the covid-19 virus within the next four weeks and "no later than June 22," Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said yesterday.
