The local share market may get a lift after strong retail sales in the US and positive trial results from a covid-19 treatment boosted risk appetite there. Data released by the Commerce Department showed retail sales jumped by a record 17.7 percent in May, higher than the 8 percent tipped by analysts. Trial results showed dexamethasone reduced death rates by about one-third among the most severely ill covid-19 patients, according to Reuters.
