The Millennium & Copthorne Hotel group (MCK) has scuttled plans to build a 120-bed hotel in central Whangārei due to the tough year the tourism industry experienced in 2020.However, that may soon change thanks to the proposed trans-Tasman bubble between New Zealand and Australia to be announced later today.MCK chair Colin Sim told BusinessDesk he would like to see travel between the two countries resume as quickly as possible.
