Venture capital firm Pacific Channel is attempting to better bridge the gap between cutting edge academic research and commercialisation of that work's breakthroughs.The deep-tech investor has hired professor Cather Simpson as a partner, having previously invested in two of her companies: Orbis Diagnostics and Engender.Pacific Channel said there were an increasing number of technologies emerging from New Zealand universities that have the potential to solve some of the world’s challenges and be commercially viable.Simpson’s job...
