Sky Network Television sent the rumour mill into overdrive this week as the reputable Australian Financial Review (AFR) published a story suggesting the pay TV company was actively courting a take-private deal.The article says Sky’s advisers are knocking on the door of various buyout firms, encouraging them to kick the tyres on a takeover offer. The leak suggests someone across the Tasman is keen to generate some competitive tension for the company.The story sent Sky shares soaring by 9% on Monday as investors piled on in the hope of...
