The government has pledged $327 million for New Zealand’s new public media entity following the merger of TVNZ and RNZ.The new crown funding from Budget 2022 will finance the first three years of the combined state media giant, from 2023 to 2026.Minister for broadcasting and media, Kris Faafoi, said the figure would “substantially” increase the level of funding for public media and help New Zealanders “continue to access quality local content and trusted news”.“As people change the way they get their news, in...
