Meridian commits to third Australian wind farm

Sept. 3 (BusinessDesk) - Meridian Energy, one of the state-owned power companies slated for partial sale, is to start construction of its third wind farm in Australia, with the 131 megawatt Mt Mercer project in the state of Victoria. Mt Mercer is a 64-turbine wind farm 30 kilometres south of the town of Ballarat with a construction cost of about A$260 million.
