June 4 (BusinessDesk) - House prices in Auckland rose to a new record in May, with increased sales volumes soaking up a jump in new listings in the month, as the property market in the country's biggest city continues to truck along. The number of house sales rose to 1,225 in May from 1,070 in April, and was up 11 percent form the same month a year earlier, according to realtor Barfoot & Thompson.
