Alliance Group will spend $12.5 million upgrading processing technology at its Lorneville plant, including enhancing its Scott Technology-supplied robotic cutting and x-ray technology. The plant, near Invercargill, is touted as the world’s largest sheep meat processing plant, employing as many as 2,000 people in peak season.Alliance, which has come under criticism for only paying back half of the $34.3 million wage subsidy claimed while rival Silver Fern Farms paid back its entire $43.2 million, said the investment was part of its st...
