The first public act of the electricity sector’s new Consumer Advocacy Council is to start work on standardising power bills.The council was set up last year after the 2018-19 Electricity Pricing Review found that households and small businesses were struggling to be heard by the electricity sector.Council chair Deborah Hart said power bills need to be standardised to help consumers easily switch between retailers and drive greater competition.“It’s high time all power bills were simple to understand,” she said.The counc...
