Lyttelton Port said logistic problems and fluctuations in shipping schedules has clogged up the port and led to a long line of trucks backed up awaiting access."The wider New Zealand logistic issue has resulted in many export containers being delivered to Lyttelton Port and then being delayed to later vessels which has increased the average dwell times for export containers at the port," said Simon Munt, the port's container operations general manager.Vessel calls at the port are down 20% on the same time last year.
