The government has signed up to a funding agreement with Ara Ake - Aotearoa New Zealand’s future energy centre - worth an additional $70 million over 10 years.Based in Taranaki, Ara Ake is a limited liability company set up by the government in 2019 to lead the development of low-emissions energy innovation in NZ. It focuses on taking prototype ideas and making them commercially viable.
