Malaysia's Matahio Energy completes acquisition of Taranaki oil and gas licences

Malaysian-headquartered company Matahio Energy says it has completed the acquisition of a portfolio of six onshore oil and gas licences in Taranaki.A sale and purchase agreement was signed with Tamarind NZ Holdings in March last year. All the required approvals from NZ authorities had now been obtained to complete the transaction, Matahio Energy said in a press release.The company will hold a 100% participatory interest in four of the licences and a 70% interest in the other two licences. It will operate the Cheal and Sidewinder fields, wh...
