Silicon Valley billionaire Sean Parker has been cleared to buy a 22 percent stake in local film effects hero Weta Digital, more than a year after the deal was first announced. The Overseas Investment Office approved the deal on Oct. 7.The OIO decision summary released today showed Parker’s Weta Holdings entity was cleared to buy almost 5.6 million new shares.
