Qantas shutting down Jetstar Asia

Qantas says it will shut down Jetstar Asia and redeploy more than a dozen jets to New Zealand and Australia.Jetstar Asia operated from Singapore to 16 destinations but was projected to lose millions of dollars this year.Qantas said closing down the airline would release up to A$500 million (NZ$528m) in capital for fleet renewal.Singapore company Westbrook Investments owns 51% of Jetstar Asia, and Qantas Group owns 49%.In announcements to the media and the Australian Securities Exchange today, Qantas said it would redeploy 13 Jetstar Asia Airbus...
