Minister for regional development Shane Jones attended the official ribbon-cutting of an 11-hectare greenhouse at horticulture giant LeaderBrand's Tairāwhiti farm on Friday.In 2019, when Jones was also regional economic development minister, the provincial development unit (now Kānoa) approved a $17 million loan to help fund the construction.The fixed-roof plastic greenhouse will be able to grow produce year-round, making the company's yields more resilient.“The aim of the project is to accelerate crop growth year-round in a more...
