NZ dollar becalmed on US-China trade/politics nexus

The New Zealand dollar was little changed as financial markets awaited developments on the US-China trade negotiations amid deepening fears that the politics around Hong Kong's continuing unrest could sink a trade deal. The kiwi was trading at 64.03 US cents at 5pm in Wellington from 64.02 at 8am while the trade-weighted index was at 70.90 points from 70.87.
