NZ dollar gains against Aussie after weaker-than-expected retail sales across Tasman

By Rebecca Howard Oct. 5 (BusinessDesk) - The New Zealand dollar rose against the Australian dollar in otherwise quiet trading after retail sales across the Tasman posted their biggest drop in four-and-a-half years.  The kiwi rose to 91.37 Australian cents as at 5pm in Wellington from 91.16 cents as at 8am to be little changed from 91.34 cents yesterday. It fell to 71.53 US cents from 71.80 cents late yesterday. Retail sales fell 0.6 percent on the month in August, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. The decline was worse...
