NZ dollar unchanged, treading water ahead of RBNZ, budget speech

By Rebecca Howard May 7 (BusinessDesk) - The New Zealand dollar was unchanged against the greenback in quiet Monday trading and ahead of the central bank's rate decision this week. The kiwi traded at 70.20 US cents as at 5pm in Wellington from 70.16 US cents as at 8am in Wellington from 70.18 cents in New York on Friday. The trade-weighted index was at 73.34 from 73.25 in New York, below the 75 level the Reserve Bank was expecting in the second quarter.
