NZ home sales, prices rise in September on strong Auckland demand, REINZ says

By Hannah Lynch Oct. 8 (BusinessDesk) - New Zealand house sales rose in September, with a shortage of listings causing buyers to make rapid decisions and lifting house prices to record-highs in the Auckland and Nelson/Marlborough regions, according to the Real Estate Institute. The number of sales rose 8 percent in September to 5,653 from the same month a year earlier, the Real Estate Institute said in a statement. The national median house price rose 5 percent to $371,000.
