NZ posts new migration, tourism records in April, underpinning growth

By Tina Morrison May 20 (BusinessDesk) - New Zealand posted new records for migration and tourism in April, providing a buffer for the economy hurt by weak prices for dairy products, the country's largest export commodity. New Zealand had net migration of 68,100 in the 12 months through April, as migrant arrivals rose 9 percent to 124,700 and departures slid 2 percent to 56,600, Statistics New Zealand said.
