Oil and gas producers OMV and Todd Energy emerge as the most likely beneficiaries of the Budget 2025 announcement that the Government would invest up to 15% in a new oil and gas field.In a note to clients, Enerlytica’s John Kidd identified the OMV-controlled Maui East discovery offshore Taranaki, Todd Energy’s Karewa block off the coast of Kawhia, and the Toutouwai prospect off the coast of Taranaki, where OMV holds a 70% shareholding.Details of the way the commitment of up to $200 million in government funding would work were...
