A major issue with the NZX is the small number of brokers supporting the market with most of these firms prioritising their private wealth operations, rather than traditional stockbroking activities.The NZX lists nine trading participants or stockbrokers on its website, compared with 23 large and medium-sized firms 30 years ago.
