The Act party wants to amend the Employment Relations Act so contractors can’t challenge their employment status.Employer-contractor cases have become more and more common in the growing gig economy.Most notably, Uber has been involved in a lengthy battle over the status of some of its drivers with the employment court last year ruling they were employees, not contractors.
