The Business Payment Practices Act 2023 isn't an effective solution to speeding up business payment terms and will be repealed within the next few weeks, small business and manufacturing minister Andrew Bayly says.Bayly said large market players imposing long payment terms and "routinely" paying invoices late remained a major problem and the Act would impose unnecessary compliance costs to more than 3,000 businesses needing to upgrade their information and communications technology (ICT) systems.Under the existing Act, a public re...
