MPs to pass urgent covid support payments legislation

MPs are set to pass urgent legislation tomorrow setting up covid support payments if the current lockdowns are extended.Parliamentary business will be reduced this week following the imposition of three-day alert level 2 and 3 lockdowns across the country and in Auckland respectively. Apart from Question Time, the only business MPs will consider on Tuesday is the introduction of the Covid-19 Resurgence Support Payments Bill and passing it through all stages under urgency.This legislation gives effect to government support payments schemes...
