Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters says the Government’s plan to procure helicopters directly from the United States is "not connected" with trade policy.On Thursday, Defence Minister Judith Collins and Peters announced plans to invest $2 billion in five MH-60R Seahawk maritime helicopters and $700 million in an Airbus A321XLR to replace the ageing 757 fleet.Both are part of the $12b planned commitments outlined in the Defence Capability Plan (DCP) announced in April.The helicopters will be bought directly through the US...
