Workplace harassment complaints being sent to Ombudsman as a 'last resort'

Protected disclosures – anonymous complaints about serious workplace wrongdoings – made to the Ombudsman increased by 80% between the financial year ended June 2022 and the one prior. This financial year they’ve increased by 55%, with 208 protected disclosures and enquiries being completed so far.The Protected Disclosures (Protection of Whistleblowers) Act 2022 allowed for complaints of this sort to be made directly to the Ombudsman.Chief ombudsman Peter Boshier said his office has become the “last resort&rdquo...
