The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions on a Russian oligarch whose business associate has substantial assets in New Zealand.On Friday (NZT), the UK government announced it was freezing the assets of several oligarchs, including Chelsea football club owner Roman Abramovich.Abramovich is a close associate of Alexander Abramov, a Russian steel magnate who owns the luxury $50 million Helena Bay Lodge in Northland.Abramov is chair of Evraz, a major steel producer.
