Fonterra pulls out of Russia

Dairy co-operative Fonterra is shutting down its Russian operations.“Following careful consideration of the impact on our people and our long-term plans for the Russian market, we will now close our office in Moscow, re-deploying staff where possible, and withdraw from our joint venture Unifood,” said chief executive Miles Hurrell.Fonterra has seven people based in Moscow with Fonterra Russia and about 35 people based in Saint Petersburg with Fonterra’s joint venture Unifood.Both entities have continued to operate up until now...
