Global butter prices are likely to continue to fall as supply begins to outstrip demand.At the latest Global Dairy Trade (GDT) auction on Wednesday morning, the price fell 2.5% to US$6,969 (NZ$11,882) per metric tonne.Retail butter prices have been a hot topic in recent months, having surged by over 50% for a 500g block.On the GDT, butter peaked at just under US$8,000/MT at the start of May, but it has largely dropped at every auction since.It is, however, still trading above US$6,675/MT, which is where it was a year ago.Over 80% of the bu...
