The New Zealand honey industry says a new industry body with the power to levy fees is needed if it wants to double exports by 2030 as planned.It’s counting on riding a global surge of growth to increase honey’s export value to a billion dollars by 2030, from around $450 million in 2022.Apiculture NZ released the Thriving Together strategy on February 20, which expects the industry to come out of a recent downturn by realigning production to international consumer demands.
