The biosecurity levy that helped fund the response to Mycoplasma Bovis has been cut by 66%.It will drop from 2.4 cents per kilogram of milk solids (kgMS)to 0.8c/kgMS from July 1.M. Bovis was first detected in New Zealand in 2017, and the then-Labour government opted for eradication, which was estimated to cost nearly $900m over 10 years.The industry committed to pay for just under a third of the total cost.
