Synlait’s dire first-half result may have been the catalyst that led chief executive Leon Clement to exit stage-left.Clement will stay in the position until the end of April when co-founder, former chief executive and board member John Penno will take over in an interim capacity on May 1. Clement has been chief executive since 2018. The company will begin recruiting shortly. No reason was given for Clement’s resignation, but the board did recognise “the substantial impact that covid-19 has had on Synlait and the...
