Norske Skog’s review of its newsprint operation at Kawerau is a “perfect worked example” of the opportunity New Zealand has to create greater value from its forestry and timber resources, the Wood Processors and Manufacturers Association says.The operation, which sits alongside the Oji Fibre Solutions’ kraft pulp mill and the Asaleo tissue mill, has resource consents, a feedstock supply and geothermal energy.
