Zespri pursues Chinese importer’s family for legal costs

Zespri is pursuing the sister of its former import partner to recoup costs after a multi-million dollar claim over its Chinese operations was dropped last year.  Shanghai Neuhof dropped a $25 million compensation claim and Zespri its $57 million counterclaim last February. The importer had sued in 2014 after its general manager Xiongjie Liu was jailed for breaching customs duties in China.
