Two building sector bodies are launching standard house designs that will be available to all, in an attempt to bring down the cost of building a home.Industry association New Zealand Certified Builders (NZCB) and the Building Research Association of New Zealand (Branz) have both developed accessible plans for building an affordable and sustainable home.NZCB estimates its system will save nearly $60,000 on the cost of constructing a basic two-bedroom dwelling.Its designs will be released at the end of this month, and it is in the process of est...
