The Commerce Commission has been given the green light to investigate the building supplies sector, with a view to slowing rampant housing inflation.Commerce and consumer affairs minister David Clark said the latest market study will commence this week.Citing the “highly concentrated” nature of some markets in the supply chain, Clark said the commission will be able to investigate factors that may affect competition.These include the supply or acquisition of key building supplies across materials used for building foundations, floor...
