Building consents for new dwellings fell 5.2% in October compared to September.The new data from Stats New Zealand emerged soon after employment data showed the construction sector shed more than 11,000 jobs in a year.New data from Stats NZ also showed a 16% decline in consents over the year to October.The annual value of non-residential building work consented was $9.3 billion, down 3.5% from a year before.Stats NZ said the new dwellings consented to in October included 1,363 stand-alone houses and 1,174 townhouses, flats and units.Job lossesF...
