‘Hard to ignore’: Analysts eye upside in property sector as values stabilise

Signs that commercial property values are stabilising suggest share prices could rise toward book value, according to analysts. Of the five real estate investment trusts (REITs) that reported earnings in the last two weeks of May, Investore, Argosy, Kiwi, Goodman and Stride, none disclosed a drop in the fair value of their portfolios that was comparable to the previous year.Argosy, for example, reported a 3.6% rise in the book value of its property while Stride disclosed a net reduction of about $29 million across its portfolio, compared t...
